Where to take your wedding pictures in Copenhagen?

If you are planning your wedding or elopement, and you maybe did some searches on Google Maps already, you just found a better explanation of where to take your private shooting in Copenhagen. Here you will find a list with addresses, pros & cons, from a photographer perspective.

1. City Hall - Radhusplasen

Adress: Rådhuspladsen 1, 1550 København

This is the place where you might have the ceremony. We are not gonna talk about this here, but what I love is that you have 3 floors at your disposition, to have your private shooting there.

The only problem you might face is the lowest light, but your photographer should know how to deal with this situation. The place can be crowded sometimes, but there should be no problem in taking your pictures. The best location in case of heavy rain or bad weather outside.

2. Christiansborg Palace

Adress: Prins Jørgens Gård 1, 1218 København

One of my favorites as well. This place covers many spots for private photo shooting, so if you are in a rush with your schedule I totally recommend choosing this location. What you will find here?

Marble Bridge

The beautiful Arcades that will save your day from the rain

Garden of the Royal Library

The palace in place and Royal Horses

3. Botanical garden

Adress: Gothersgade 128, 1123 København K

Here you need to keep in mind that you can't go inside their garden. Since the new rules came out, we are not allowed to take any type of professional pictures inside, BUT, their garden is big enough to spend at least one hour in there. I really recommend this place, it's quiet and intimate, and the best thing is that you will have green in your pictures even in the winter.

4. Rosenborg Castle

Adress: Øster Voldgade 4A, 1350 København

If you are looking for a royal & elegant place to take your wedding pictures, this might be the perfect fit for you, in the heart of Copenhagen, we don't have only the Castle but also their huge and amazing garden, "The King's Garden", where we can spend around 2 hours, for the best shots. The only thing you should keep in your mind is the tickets for Castle & having a confirmation from them that you can take your wedding pictures there.

5. Your hotel lobby/room

If you are still thinking about how to add a little spice to your day. I suggest thinking about the preparation or after-wedding shoot in your hotel. With a little bit of music & champagne, we will create the best pictures together, and you can feel confident and comfortable in front of the camera.

The most wanted location.

Keep in mind that this is the most popular street and the busiest one. We are not recommending this location in the rush hours, afternoon, or National Holidays. Since there are many people over there, it might be very difficult to get comfortable in front of the camera, and your pictures can be ruined by the people around. If we find the best moment to take pictures over there, for sure we will do it.

If you plan to have a walk in the inner city, have in mind Gammel Strand, this location can be added to a City Walk, and the route is like this:

From Radhusplasen City Hall to:

  1. Christiansborg Palace

  2. Gammel Strand

  3. Kogens Nytorv

These locations can be covered in around 3 hours, and we can easily walk and stop where we find cool spots
